The chart below depicts the information about the water used for household, Industrial and agricultural purpose globally and in the two main cities in United States namely San Diego and California.

Overall, we can see that in both San Diego and California water is mainly used for residential purposes while looking into the water usage globally we can clearly see that usage of water is for agricultural purposes.

Looking into the information in more detail we can see that in San Diego and California rate of usage of water for residential purposes is the highest with 60% and 39% respectively. Followed by industrial purposes with the percentage rate of 23% and 33%. Whereas least amount of water is used for agricultural purposes in San Diego and California with rate of 17% and 28% respectively.

By contrast, the rest of the world primarily used water for farming activities with 69%. It is then followed by industrial usage with rate of 23%. Lasitly, for residential functions with lowest rate of 8%.
