The provided bar chart illustrates the volume of people employed in five different sectors in a particular area of Australia in 2001 and 2008.
Looking from an overall perspective, there was a slight rise in the numbers of employees in sales, computing, and nursing, whereas a downward trend was witnessed in the field of accounting and farming. Furthermore, it is evident that the sales sector employed the most individuals, while farming employed the least in both years.
In 2001, nearly 160,000 people were employed in sales, significantly outnumbering the other realms listed in the chart. While the figures for accounting, computing, and nursing each stood at around 60,000, the agricultural sector recorded the smallest workforce, with approximately 30,000 workers.
By 2008, employment in sales had increased slightly to just over 160,000, still leading as the most populous workforce. Although computing and nursing followed the similar patterns as sales, computing observed a considerable upward trend, growing up to just under 80,000, whilst the number of workers in nursing sector rose moderately to 60,000. Conversely, declines were seen in the accounting and farming workforces, with the former falling slightly to just below 60,000 and the latter to just under 20,000.
