The two maps show the changes which occurred in a town of the USA from 1948 to 2010.
Overall, the city layout underwent significant changes, to make it more environmentally sustainable and more modern area for urban residents. The area went from a primarily residential area into a bustling commercial hub
In 1948, there was a line of christmas and oak trees along the motorway, enclosing the city area, with a petrol station on the northern side. Furthermore, a canal, which ran across the town, divided the area into northern and southern sides. On the north-west, a local supermarket could be observed, opposite of which there were a set of one-storey residential areas. The area also featured a park with a lake in the middle, and the factories, which were adjacent. On the southern part of the canal, a church was located on a vacant ground. Moreover, a cluster of multi-story apartments were available across the bridge of the canal.
Looking at the alterations over the given period by 2010, it can be seen that a local supermarket and one-storey houses had been repurposed into brand-new commercial buildings. Another noticeable development was the clearance of the park, which made space for a modern supermarket. Next to the building, a state-of-the-art domestic airport was constructed on the place of former factories. The church was also turned into a football stadium, which completed the main changes that took place in the area.
