Overall, the town experienced a dramatic transformation. Factories were demolished and commercial buildings emerged to the left of the canal. The church was replaced by a sports stadium and an airport was built.
In addition, the industrial area that once contained factories was completely cleared to build the airport and new commercial blocks nearby. The southern part of the town also changed a lot: the old church was replaced by a large sports stadium, and the local supermarket was not only relocated to the right of the main crossroads but also expanded, with several modern shops and offices appearing around it. Moreover, houses on the western side were removed to make space for these new developments.
Despite these major transformations, some parts of the town stayed the same. The canal and the overall road network did not change. The petrol station in the north-west remained in its place. Buildings on the right side of the canal were kept but slightly reorganised ,and the trees along the canal also stayed untouched.
