In this modern era, globalization is inevitable part of human life and also brings many positive effects across numerous fields. However, we should be aware of its negative side, which I believe it carries severe problems for people throughout all ages. This essay will more address the downsides of globalization.

Broadly speaking, globalization influences all diciplines, starting from education to medical areas. For instance, in the education sector, globalization allows scholars around the globe to connect with each other by sharing their papers and research, exchanging ideas, innovations, and information. Furthermore, in the medical domain, globalization supports the transactions of medical aids, especially for developing country, Indonesia, in fact, still import many medical tools from develop countries. These illustrations prove that globalization serves as a golden compass, guiding improvements in vital aspects of life.

On the other hand, globalization holds several negative impacts across generations. Starting from Millennials and Gen Z, they exhibit consumerist behaviors such as buying branded bags, hanging out in cafes everyday, and so on. These lead a phenomenon, such as spending exceeding income. Moreover, as reported by World Economy Bank in 2024, specifically in Indonesia, those generations experience that owning houses are economically demanding since it requires a great deal of money. As a result, they favour to rent apartments and even choose to engage online borrowing, which causes many youngsters to be trapped in significant debt. The worst case of this habbit is many young people commit to suicide because they can not pay their debts.

In conclusion, globalization affects individuals in both positive and negative ways. This essay explains that globalization also highlights damaging consequences for people, which affect the way they live.
