Starting from Millennials and Gen Z, they exhibit consumerist behaviors such as buying branded bags, hanging out in cafes everyday, and so on. These lead a phenomenon, such as spending exceeding income. Moreover, as reported by World Economy Bank in 2024, specifically in Indonesia, those generations experience that owning houses are economically demanding since it requires a great deal of money. As a result, they favour to rent apartments and even choose to engage online borrowing, which causes many youngsters to be trapped in significant debt. The worst case of this habbit is many young people commit to suicide because they can not pay their debts.
