The graph illustrates the average carbon dioxide( CO2) emissions per individual in Ireland, Sweden, France and Spain from 1970 to 2010.
Overall, Sweden and France started high in the initial years, however, the figure saw a downward trend in the later years. Spain on the other hand, can be seen increasing over the years. Ireland’s status on this matter fluctuated and fell over time.
Initially, Sweden was predominant in 1970s with 14 metric tones of carbon dioxide emission, followed by France with around 9 metric tones in the same year. However, the numbers of both the countries saw a sharp decline around 8.5 and 6 respectively, by the end of 2010.
In terms of Spain, it began with 4 metric tonnes in 1970, which then steadily rose to about 7 metric tonnes in 2010. Ireland stagnated for the minimal period, until it saw a rise in 1990 with around 11 metric tonnes and gradually went down to 8 metric tonnes per person in the following year.
