The bar chart illustrates the different proportions of electronic devices used by Australia’s citizens used in 2008.
Looking from an overall perspective, it is readily apparent that using smartphones were the most common device among 12-50 years while that for e-reader at the age of 76 years or over. In contrast, laptop was a more preferable option for people who 51-55 years old.
Among 12-24 years olds, around 65% people used smartphones, which was the highest figure among all electronics, followed by tablet at 30%. About 5 % users utilized laptop and almostly no one did not prefer e-reader. For 25-50 aged people, both smartphones and tablet were respectively similar at 40%, whereas laptop showed around 12% users which was abundance doubled by e-reader at 6 %.
People who 51-75 years olds, 30% individuals were active on smartphone, which was slightly higher than tablet at 20%. Figure for people who used laptop was the most common at 40%, while e-reader depicted the least common option again at around 4%. 76 years old and above people preferred e-reader, followed by laptop users at 30%. Among these types of people smartphone and tablet were the least common at 7% and 3%.
