The pie charts show the distribution of employees with various qualifications in one advertising company in 1990 and 2010. Overall, the percentage of employees with PhD in science, art and Master art increased to varying degrees, while those owning first degree in art and science considerably declined, reflecting a growing tendency to earn higher qualifications. Meanwhile, the proportion of those with Master degree in science remained unchanged. Notably, PhD science earners slightly outnumbered their counterparts with master science degrees by 2010.
Employees with master science qualifications formed the majority of the workforce in the advertising company. In 1990, they constituted a substantial 29%, which did not change over the following two decades. By contrast, those having first degrees in either art or science witnessed a decline in their proportions. The former group saw the steepest drop from 15% to a mere 2%, while the latter exhibited a plunge to 11% from an initial 20%.
Conversely, employees holding other types of degrees rose over the period. The most pronounced growth was observed in the proportion of PhD science earners, with the figure surging from 13% to 30%, thereby surpassing other categories. Although employees with PhD art degrees also witnessed a rise, it only reached 5% up from 2%. A similar, marginal upward trend was observed in the percentage of master art degree owners, with the figure growing from 21% to 23%.
