The graph illustrates the percentage of households that had access to the World Wide Web between the years 1999 and 2004 in European suburban and rural regions. The chart also shows that there seem to be an increased in use of internet in both rural as well as urban areas throughout the years.
Overall, both the areas withnessed a rise in percentage of households with internet access. It is furthermore clear that the rural regions had less access to internet as compared to urban areas.
In 1999, about 15% of suburbs houses had obtain the net whereas there was no availability of internet in rural cities. Between 2000 and 2002 the percent of urban towns increased gradually from 30% to 50%. At the same time, the rural regions also showed an upward trend of 15%.
In 2003 and 2004, the internet access continued to grow in the both the areas. While, there was no significant change in the proportion of urban towns, there showed a rise of about 25% and 35% respectively in the both the years.
