The two graphs provide information about the percentages of men and women who pitch in some entertaining activities in England.
From the figures, it is clear that just over 80% of the female and male population takes pleasure in staring at the tv (watching TV program). The second most appreciated activity by both sexes is hanging out with loved ones.
Nevertheless, it is shown that both men and women prefer spending their recreational time also in distinct ways. The male genre is far more likely than their counterparts to work out and take part in sports (58% compared with 43%). Contrary to this, women take delight both in purchasing items in retail outlets and in getting lost in a good novel, with three quarters doing so, compared with approximately 53% of men. Similarly, female adults tend to be more engaged/ involved/and participate in cultural activities, such as attending artistic events.
Nonetheless, it is evident that both genres appreciate having the music playing in the background, with 70% doing so.
On the whole, it seems there is a general consistency between sexes in their choice of leisure activities, despite some differences in individual rankings.
