The line graph illustrates the mean values of carbon dioxide (CO2) emitted by one individual in metric tonnes, in 4 countries, the United Kingdom, Sweden, Italy and Portugal, from the year 1967 to 2007. Overall, although Portugal and Italy had a substantial growth in CO2 gas emissions over a 50-year interval, the opposite is true for the United Kingdom and Sweden.
Both Italy and Sweden demonstrate the same growth pattern, each reached their peak in 2007, well under 8 and 6 respectively. Italy holded the position of emmiting CO2 gases the most among the 4 countries, followed by Italy.
The pattern of Sweden flactuated throughout the period given, started at considerably above 8 in 1967 and reached slightly more than 10 in 1977. It then abruptly started falling, reached well above 5 in 2007. On the other hand, Portugal was the only country that had not experienced a fluctiation and growth, decreasing over a 50-year period without any erratical changes. It started just above 10 in 1967 and hit the trough of considerably above 8 in 2007.
