The two maps illustrate delineate the significant changes that occurred in the layout of a library from 1975 to present. Overall, a library underwent significant refurbishment, including the replacing of shared areas and the demolishing of the books and magazines and the bookshelves. These changes aimed to cater to a more diverse demand of studying and attract more students.
In 1975, a library featured toilet in the front, direct facing the entrance and the stair at the back. The sections on the left hand of the library were allocated to bookshelves , shared areas and books and magazines. On the right side, the new books are located near the entrance, with the library desk behind of it. The children’s book occupied in front of the library.
Until present, the library has seen a major changes, including the replacing of computers and the coffee, and the introducing of a shared area. Specifically, a books shelves were transformed into the computers. The bookshelves, toilet, children’s book, library desk remained unchanged in its location, while the coffee redeveloped into the coffee, catering to student’s studying. On the top right corner of the library experienced the redesigned of the first new book into the wheelchair access. Another notable change is the replacing shared areas from the left to the right and develop into two types of area, including the triangle and rectangle areas, enhancing the student experience.
