The number of jobs in various industries related to tourism that were located in one of the cities in the United Kingdom is demonstrated in the bar chart. The data were documented from 1989 to 2009.
Overall, it has been evident from the figures of the chart that over the mentioned two decades the restaurants of this particular town witnessed a growth in the quantity of their employees, its hotels remained at the same level despite some changes. At the same time, the jobs regarding sports and leisure and tours and travels declined during the years.
Initially, approximately 1100 individuals in the industry were employed in the restaurants, and a slightly lower number worked in hotels in 1989. Both these figures followed an upward trend in the next five years, when the hotel staff reached 1400, surpassing the other jobs before falling gradually to its original amount of over 1000. On the other hand, the occupations in dining continued to rise to its peak of 1600 in 2004 and culminated in over 1200 by the end of the period.
In regard to the remaining categories of businesses, their figures similarly decreased by around 200 people for sports and leisure and almost halved for travels and tours. They experienced their peak in 1999 and 1994, respectively, both reaching above 1000 at their prime.
