Dear Lucas,
I’m writing to let you know that the comic book I have borrowed from you was damaged by coffee, due to the mistake of my cat.
It happened while I was grooming my cat, and she became so uncontrollable to handle because I accidentally cut her nails more than I should have. In between, she started creating a ruckus all over my place, while I wasn’t aware that your comic book was wide open next to my coffee mug on my desk. You would have guessed it right by now that she ran over my desk and spilled hot coffee over your book and my desk.
I’m extremely sorry for the loss that I have caused and I know how much you loved that book, even though I gave you a promise of I wouldn’t let anything happen to this book. I have tried to dry it under the sun, but sadly it was too late to stop the stains from spreading all over the book.
Why don’t we meet next Sunday at your place? So I can take you out for an ice cream treat near your favourite ice cream stall. I’ll make it up to you by buying the same copy of the book if it will make you happy.
Regards,
Hardik
