Band 6+: some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmes (for example working for a charity, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to younger children) Are you agree or disagree?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Many individuals argue that nonprofit community services should be mandatory at high-school education, while other individuals believe they should be voluntary. I personally believe unpaid services high schools offer are crucial, though I don’t support the statement every single high school required to offer community services

Many citizens support the idea that high-school education should provide free local services such as cleaning the beaches, picking up trash. It’s a crucial part of society to involve youth into unpaid community services, and educating them that keeping the environment clean or helping others. This will not only contribute towards local ecosystems, but would also provide new experience into each high school student’s life by being involved in community services.

On another hand, it’s ethically wrong to require unpaid community service from every single high school and their students. Every high school education has its own values and specialization, and unpaid volunteering services might not be part of that high school’s culture: students use community service as an opportunity to skip the important lessons, since the community is mostly held during the school time, and high school education can fail in educating the students who legally skipped the lessons.

In conclusion, many people continuously argue that non-profit community services should be required for high school or not. Although these services are a crucial part of modern education, I personally believe that high schools have the right to choose about offering unpaid community services.

Whether teenagers should be required to undertake unpaid community service as part of their schooling is increasingly debated. In my view, such a requirement is broadly beneficial and should be adopted, provided that schools manage it carefully. The strongest argument in its favour concerns the development of young people themselves. Adolescents who regularly help others […]

The integration of mandatory community service into the secondary school curriculum is a topic of ongoing debate. some people believe that unpaid community service should be a compulsory part of high school programmes (for example working for a charity, improving the neighbourhood or teaching sports to younger children) Are you agree or disagree?

It is often argued that high schools should require non-profit community service as part of their programme. I mostly agree with the opinion that schools should teach children to be ready to contribute to society, although the primary focus should remain on the main curriculum. Nowadays, the education system rewards students solely based on academic […]

Some people argue that unpaid community service should be made mandatory in high schools. I completely agree with this opinion because it helps students develop important life skills and gain a clearer sense of direction for their future. Firstly, participating in community service helps students develop maturity and confidence. When teenagers engage in voluntary work, […]
