Focusing on the increase first, there were changes for both ages 15-64 and 65+. The figure for people by age 15-64 accounted for at 40% in 1960. The figure for population by aged 14-64 in china went up significantly from 40% to 50% between 1960 and 1980, then grew to 68 in 2000, after which it rose noticeably to 70 in 2020. Starting at 7% in 1960, the figure for china’s population by age 65+ upward insignificantly about 11% in 1980. Before increasing to 17% in 2020, the figure for aged 65+ had grew slightly from 11% to 13% from 1980 to 2000.
By contrast, the number of by age 0-14 showed reversal changes. The percentage of population age 0-14 in china decreased from 45% to 38% between 1960 and 1980, then declined slightly to 30% in 2000, after which it fell noticeably to 25% in 2020.
