The pie charts compare how time spent on tablets and smartphones is distributed across six different activity categories. Taking everything into account, entertainment-related use dominates both devices, although gaming is far more prominent on tablets, while smartphone usage is more evenly distributed.
Regarding smartphones, games account for the largest share at 35% followed closely by social networking at 29%. In addition, utilities also present a substantial propotion standing at 20%, while music and videos are used less frequently at 8%. Minor activities include news consumption at 3%, while other purposes make up the remaining 5%.
In contrast, tablet usage is heavily concentrated in gaming, which occupies a dominant 57% of total time. Social networking accounts for a much smaller 15%, and music and videos represent 13%. News and utilities are marginal activities at 4% and 3% respectively, while other uses comprise 8% only.
