In the graphic presented we can check the percentage of population aged 65 and above in Canada, Germany and the UK in 1980, 2000 and the predicition for 2030.
It’s clear that the percentage of people aged 65 and above it’s been rising since 1980 in the three countries. Although in UK this rise’s not that significant, Germany’s have the biggest percentage and the pattern is to continue rising up that number, while Canada although it was from the three, the country with the lowest percentage is now getting close to the european countries and it’s predicted to surpass the UK by 2030. The difference from Canada’s numbers in 1980 and the predicted in 2030 it’s more than the double being the country from the three with biggest rising with almost a 15 percent increase. The UK have an interesting case because the difference between the percentage in 1980 and the prediction for 2030 it is only of around 5 percent.
The prediction of people aged 65 or above is clear to be increasing in the next decade at least in three big coutries like Canada, Germany and the UK so we can say that probably other countries in Europe or North America might follow this prediction.
