The figure presents the sales of children’s book, adult fiction, and educational books between 2002 and 2006. Overall, the three kind of books showed completely different trends over the given periods. The sales of children’s book was constantly increased to the peak of about 67 million dollars in 2006, while adult fiction sales was steadily deteriorated to the bottom of 30 million dollars in 2006. In addition, the sales of educational books remained sideways the whole time.
Generally, the sales of educational books seemed to be lower than children’s book and adult fiction, except for the period of 2006, where the sales of adult fiction touched the bottom of 30 million dollars and officially became the lowest sales of the year.
Furthermore, there was a significant increase in the sales of children’s book from 2005 to 2006. It began to increase constantly from 2002 to 2005 and then rose significantly from 46 to 56 million dollars towards 2006.
