The chart shows the choices of immigration destinations among Britons between 2004 and 2007.
Overall, there are five popular immigration destinations. All countries like Australia, Spain, USA and France experienced fluctuating trends with the exception of New Zealand.
On the one hand, USA, Australia and France dramatically fluctuated. As for Australia, its data started as the highest at over 40,000 before decreasing slightly a year later. Then, its number experienced a dramatic increase reaching just over 50,000 in 2006 and fell rapidly at the end of the period. For the USA, the number of migrants was relatively low at around 25,000. However, this number decreased to just under 20,000 before experiencing a gradual fluctuation ending at exactly 20,000. Similarly, France’s figure also started relatively low which was slightly lower than that of the USA’s. After that, its number increased dramatically reaching over 30,000 before decreasing continuously to just under 20,000 in 2007.
On the other hand, Spain and New Zealand showed similar trends. Spain’s number began at 35,000 which rose slightly. However, this number started to fall continuously reaching only just under 30,000 in 2007. When it comes to New Zealand, its number of visitors fell gradually from around 23,000 in 2004 to just a little over 20,000 in 2007.
