The life cycle of a silkworm may be simple compared to other animals, but the value of the silkworm is still as important as any other creature. The production of silk cloth is heavily dependent on them.
The silkworm takes around 40 days in total complete their life cycle. It all begins when an adult silkworm lays an egg, and that egg hatches into the larvae of the silk worm. The larvae feeds on leaves until it has enough energy to produce silk and turn into a cocoon, and continue to develop until it evolves into a moth which then repeats the cycle.
However, the production of silk cloth relies on when the larvae starts producing silk threads. The threads are collected and boiled in water until they are ready to unwind into a thin thread. It is then dyed and weaved until they receive what is desired.
In summary, the life cycle of the silkworm and the production of the cloth is heavily different due to the fact that the cycle is about life and the production of cloth is merely a non-living being. Although, there are some similarities which is that they both evolve into something more spectacular, and that there are several steps in each of them.
