The chart below illustrates the graduate and postgraduate students in England who did not choose to do full-time work after leaving university in 2008.
Overall, for graduates and postgraduates students, most of them choose to pursue further study, whereas some others decide to do part-time work and voluntary work while some students are unemployed.
For graduated British students, 29,665 choose to do further study after leaving university. Following that, 17,735 graduated British students choose to do part-time work. Moreover, 3,500 students have decided to do voluntary work, whereas 16,235 graduated students are unemployed in Britain.
On the other hand, most postgraduated UK students, precisely 2,725 students, choose to do further study after leaving college, followed by part-time job which is accounted for 2,535 students. Furthermore, only 345 students choose to do voluntary work, while half of the postgraduated UK students chose to be unemployed, which is numbered at 1,625 students.
