The diagram illustrates the process of a modern landfill for household waste.
Overall, the landfill system consists of four main stages, beginning with the construction of a man-made hole and ending with the distribution of gases produced by the waste.
Initially, the hole is dug in the ground, and near the hole natural rock is positioned. Synthetic lining is run around the hole and clay which contributes more operation. In this scheme is added drainage pipes at the lower part and set drainage tank.
On the final stage, the houshold waste is engorged and the waste liquid is absorbed with natural rock. With thw help of pipe, gases is filled to waste liquid and distributed to the ground. All this process is covered by clay cover at the top.
