The given line graph illustrates the US consumers’ average annual expenditures on cell phone and residential phone services during the period 2001 to 2010. Overall, it is obvious that cell phone services saw a sharp rise throughout the period, while residental phone services witnessed a rapid decline over the period.
With regard to cell phone services, it commenced at about 200 dollars in 2001. Moreover, cell phone services experienced a growth to around 280 dollars in 2002 and slightly increased to merely 305 dollars in 2003. For the next three years, cell phone services climbed to nearly 500 dollars in 2006, which similar with residential phone services in this year. However, cell phone services witnessed a dramatic increase to around 700 dollars at the end of the period, which was the highest number in this figure.
Turning to residential phone services, it stood at about 690 dollars, whicg was the highest point in this year. It can be seen that residential phone services decreased slightly to nearly 650 dollars in 2002. Furthermore, it saw a stable decline to nearly 500 dollars in 2006 and sharply declined to 480 dollars in 2007. For the next year, it remained constant until 2008. In addition, residential phone services witnessed a rapid decrease to around 400 dollars over the period, which was the lowest number in this year.
