Overall, Stromer has undergone substantial development over the period shown. The town has become considerably more urbanised, with a large increase in housing and public facilities. At the same time, much of the farmland and some forested areas have been replaced by residential and commercial buildings.
In 1995, the majority of Stromer consisted of farmland located in the southern part of the town, while forests occupied most of the remaining area. There were only two apartment blocks in the north-west and a small shopping area situated near the centre. These were connected by a road running from north to south.
At present, the town contains a far greater number of buildings. Several new apartment blocks have been constructed in both the northern and southern sections. A school has been built in the centre of the town, surrounded by shops and residential buildings. In addition, an airport has been established in the north-east corner. Although some forest remains on the eastern side, its area has been reduced. Likewise, the farmland has shrunk considerably and now occupies only a small section in the south-east. The road network has also been expanded to serve the newly developed areas.
