Japan had the highest banana price in 1994 with two dollars per kilogram compared with 1.75 in France, 1.45 in Germany and 0.95 in USA. After a dramatic increase to roughly 2.90 dollars, the prices dropped back to 2 dollars in 1996. While Japan experienced flucutations, France had a steady trend with approximately 1.75 dollars until 1997. Japan experienced a constant dramatic drop until 2001 to 1.65 dollars, meanwhile prices in France climbed up to 1.75 dollars in 2001 from 1.40 dollars in 2000. France had a big decrease from 1.50 to 1 dollar until 2003 and had 1.60 dollars in 2004. Prices in Japan continued to rise from 2001 despite a stop from 2002 to 2003, before ending the graph with the highest cost, 2.55 in 2004.
Price of a kilogram of banana was 1.40 dollars in Germany while it was 0.9 cents in the USA during 1994. Germany experienced slight fluctuations in 1996 with 1.50 dollars and in 1.30 dollars in 1998 while the prices in the USA were 1.20 in 1996 and 1.10 in 1998. After dropping to 1.10 dollars in 1999, banana prices in the USA remained the same while Germany still had cost differences with 1.50 in 1999, 1.10 in 2000, 1.40 in 2001 and finally 1.15 in 2002. Banana prices stayed the same in Germany from 2002 to 2004.
