The diagrams depict the transformation of West Park Secondary School since its inception in 1950.
Overall, the layout has undergone significant alterations: while the main educational establishment and the playing area have remained, the housing and agricultural zones have been removed to accommodate new amenities.
In 1950, the educational zone was alongside the main road at the top. Just beside the highway, there were three identical residential units in the west and a school adjacent to them to the east. In addition, the farmland could be found below the houses, while the playground was located in the southeast corner.
However, by 1980, the housing units had been demolished and replaced by a car park and a new science block for the school. Similarly, the farming area was transformed into a sports field, whereas the playground remained intact over the following thirty years.
Subsequently, the playing field has had around one-third of its area on the west clearead to make space for the repositioning of the sports field. Meanwhile, the space formerly dedicated to sports activities has been taken up by the parking lot, which has now become L-shaped. Finally, the educational buildings next to the car park have remained untouched.
