Overall, it is clear that figures for almost all cities experienced an upward trend except for Darwin which had a reduction in water levels. It is also worth mentioning that although Sydney had the most water in reservoirs in 2009, it was overtaken by Canberra a year later.
Looking at the details of Darwin, it started with around 42% water in October 2009 and significantly reduced by nearly 20% in the following year. In contrast, Sydney had the most water in 2009 at approximately 70% and increased slightly to 79% in October 2010. Meanwhile, Melbourne began with the least water in reservoirs at roughly 20% and rose noticeably to just under 40% in October 2010.
As for Brisbane, it had around 55% water in its reservoirs in October 2009 and remained unchanged in the next year. Perth had a most noticeable increase from about 35% in 2009 to roughly 70% in October 2010. Similarly, Canberra reservoirs possessed around 75% of water at the beginning and experienced a significant growth to just under 100% in the next October.
