The maps demonstrate the Porth Harbour in 2000 and its current design.
Overall, the harbour has become more convenient for tourists, with the addition of new facilities such as stores, restaurants, a hotel, extra showers and toilets. Also, the parking spaces for private yachts and fishing boats have been swapped, the road has developed and the south-eastern car park’s entrance has changed.
There was only one dock in the northern part of the harbour in 2000, however another dock has been constructed right next to it. In the west area, the places for private yachts and fishing boats have been rearranged, private yachts used to be above fishing boats. In the past, there was only one restroom in the northwest, but now another one has been established next to the second car park between two parking spaces. In addition, the entrance to the southern car park has been changed from the south side to the west side.
Furthermore, in the south, there used to be nothing near the life boat in 2000, however now cafes and shops have been built. In the southeast, a road to the hotel has been built. Next, there was a castle in the east, however now it has been transformed into a hotel for holidaymakers. After that, there was a public beach in the southeast, but now there is a private beach belonging to the hotel. It has been turned from a public beach into a private one.
