Band 6+: Many people say that we have developed into a "throw-away" culture, because we are filling up our environment with many plastic bags and with rubbish that we cannot fully dispose of. To what degree do you agree with this opinion and what measures can you recommend to reduce this problem?

It is often argued that we are filling up our environment with many plastic bags and with rubbish that we cannot fully dispose of. I agree with this statement because many places lack proper trash collection systems and it is very expensive to store trash without damage. To reduce this problem, I suggest governments implement better government policies and build better trash systems in more places.

This can be largely attributed to trash management being very expensive. Keeping this rubbish that we cannot fully dispose of needs a lot of space and needs a lot of funding to keep its negative effects from affecting the environment, meaning that it is not considered an ideal way to deal with this garbage. In addition, trash transport systems do not exist in many places, such as in the countryside or at high altitudes. This is because this trash needs to be transported before it gets rotten or smells bad, considering that consistent movement is not possible for all places because of geographical problems. For instance, in Mongolia, the big majority of the people live in the countryside; these people do not have places to store garbage because building these sites and consistently transporting is not sustainable, considering transporting takes a lot of time because of the terrain.

One effective way to address this problem is for governments to invest in modern waste management facilities. These facilities can recycle a much larger proportion of household waste. Consequently, less rubbish ends up in landfills and rivers, which are considered to have biggest negative effects on the environment. For instance, India is considered as one of the countries with rubbish due to its population. In the provinces of India that has been progressly working with waste management facilites has been shown a significant progress, meaning that this method is very effective at dealing with this problem.

In conclusion, I agree that we are producing too much rubbish because there are not enough waste management systems and it is expensive to deal with waste. Governments should improve their policies and build better waste management facilities to reduce this problem.
