The plans illustrate the current layout of Southwest Airport and the proposed plan for its redevelopment scheduled for next year.
Overall, the airport will undergo significant expansion, introducing new facilities and doubling the number of gates to enhance passenger convenience and capacity.
Currently, the airport features a modest setup with a central check-in area, security, passport control, and eight gates accessible by a walkway. There is also a café in the departures section and a single arrivals hall.
After redevelopment, the airport will expand its gate area from eight to eighteen, which will be connected by a new sky train instead of the current walkway. The check-in area will be relocated to the right side of the departures hall, while a new bag drop facility will be added on the left. Additionally, more passenger amenities, including an ATM, and a car hire service, will be introduced in the arrivals hall. A row of shops will be constructed between the main terminal and the boarding gates. A second café will also be added near the expanded gates.
