In this fast-paced world, issues of transport and housing are growing in many cities. As a response to this, some governments are encouraging businesses to move to hinterlands. From my point of view, the benefits of this trend outweigh the drawbacks, as it can reduce traffic congestion in cities and create more employment opportunities in rural areas.
The main advantage of relocating businesses to rural areas is that it can significantly reduce traffic congestion in urban areas. This is because fewer employees need to travel to city centers every day, resulting shorter commuting times and less crowded roads. Moreover, the lower number of workers in cities reduces the demand for housing, which can make accommodation more affordable for urban residents. Another important advantage is that relocating businesses to the countryside can create more employment opportunities for local residents. As new companies establish new factories and offices outside cities, they require larger work force, allowing local people to be employed without having to travel to urban areas. As a result, unemployment can be reduced, household incomes may increase.
Turning to the drawbacks of making businesses to move, there several drawbacks of this trend despite merits, such as: lack of skilled workers and poor infrastructures. Firstly, many rural areas do not have enough skilled and experienced workers. As a result, companies have to train new employees or hire them from cities, which costs lot of money and takes time from them. Secondly, many rural areas still have poor infrastructure. For instance, since some rural areas have poor roads and worse transport facilities, companies may struggle to deliver products on time or receive supplies efficiently.
To conclude, as accommodation and transportation hitches are increasing, businesses are encouraged by some governments to relocate to hinterlands. Even there are both advantages and disadvantages to this issue, I think the benefits overshadow drawbacks.
