The chart depicts the percentage of residences in three countries, that had access to electricity in 2000, 2010, and 2020. The vertical axis shows the percentages of homes that had electricity, while horizontal axis represents three countries and the selected years.
Overall, it can be seen that access to electricity has significantly increased in both three countries. India was consistently at the top of the chart,while Nepal had the lowest number of households wirh electricity. However Bangladesh stayed in the middle.
In 2000, Bangladesh had only 30% of homes with elecricity. That figure was significantly lower compairing with India,at around 60%, and Nepal, at about 40%.By 2010, the percentages had risen to roughly 55% in Bangladesh, 75% in India, and 65% in Nepal. As a result, all three countries experienced noticeable growth, with Bangladesh showing the largest increase during the first decade.
By 2020, access to electricity had improved further in every country. India reached approximately 95%, maintaining its leading position throughout the period. Nepal also recorded substantial progress, rising to around 90%, while Bangladesh increased to about 85%. Although the gap between the three countries narrowed over time, India remained the country with the highest proportion of households connected to electricity.
