The given diagram depicts the process of producing olive oil.
Overall, the production process consists of eight stages, commencing with the collection of olives and culminating in the transportation of bottled olive oil to retail stores. While the olives undergo washing and crushing in the early stages, the extracted oil is eventually separated from water before being bottled and distributed.
Initially, olives are collected using rakes before being transferred to a storage vat, where they are stored for two to three days. They are then washed with cool fresh water to remove impurities and subsequently proceed to the crushing stage. There, a series of large hammers are employed to crush the olives into olive paste. At the same time, the olive stones are collected in a separate container.
Subsequently, the olive paste is transferred through a long pipe leading directly to the pressing and filtering facility. It is then subjected to hydraulic pressing and filtration before being transferred to a centrifuge for further separation. During this stage, olive oil is separated from water through rapid spinning. Finally, the purified olive oil is bottled and transported to retail stores for commercial distribution.
