While I acknowledge that banning these activities could improve public safety, I disagree with this opinion because a complete prohibition is not the most effective solution.
Admittedly, the government should ban dangerous sports to reduce the number of serious accidents. This is mainly because such activities involve a high level of physical risk and may result in severe injuries or even death. Specifically, participants may be injured due to equipment failure, a lack of experience, or unexpected weather conditions. In addition, since emergency rescue operations and medical treatment often require substantial public resources, prohibiting these sports would reduce the pressure on healthcare systems and enhance public safety. Therefore, banning high-risk sports could protect both participants and society to a certain extent.
Nevertheless, several drawbacks can be identified when a complete ban is implemented nationwide. One significant disadvantage is that it would restrict individuals’ freedom to choose their own hobbies and lifestyles. In particular, adults who are fully aware of the potential risks should be allowed to make informed decisions about whether to participate in these activities. Furthermore, such a policy could negatively affect the tourism industry. Adventure sports attract a large number of domestic and international visitors every year, generating tourism revenue and creating numerous employment opportunities. If these activities were completely prohibited, many tourism businesses would suffer substantial financial losses, and fewer jobs would be available. Overall, I am convinced that imposing a complete ban would not be an appropriate solution.
In conclusion, although banning dangerous sports could reduce accidents and improve public safety, I believe that a complete prohibition is unnecessary because it would restrict personal freedom and negatively affect the tourism industry.
