Overall, the percentage of clothing increased markedly across the period. Although, food based proportion accounted for the larger drop for most of the years. Moreover, other figures also showed the similar variation.
At the beginning of the period, energy proportion stood at around 5, before declining to 1 in 2000. However, transport figures remained comparatively modest, it kept decreasing at a less steep rate from 10 percentage till 1990 at around 7, before declining to 3 in 2000.
Between 1960 and 2000, the leisure figure decreased steadily from 20 percentage to 12.
On the other hand, clotthing played a decisive role in the time frame, pushing from 9 to around 17 percentage to their highest level, surpassing the percentage of food in 2000. Lastly, the pattern shifted noticeably, the proportion of food kept falling from 35 to about 15 percentage in 2000.
