Band 7+: Many schools these days have problems with poor student behavior. Why do you think these problems occur? What could be done to tackle these problems?

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

The number of news about notorious behaviour of kids at schools is growing rapidly. I believe that lack of structure at schools and parents’ negligence are causing this problem. Therefore, schools should take care of students in their area, and parents must supervise their offsprings at home.

Admittedly, schools nowadays tend to ignore problems regarding students’ behaviour. Neither the principle, nor the teachers are interested in taking care of school members’ unity and overall positive relationships. In contrast, they probably tend to cover such lawlessness in order to avoid disciplinary fees they might face. For example, whenever people from the ministry of secondary education visited my school, everyone used to look polite and cgeering, but once they left, things would take their original place. Therefore, if not taken proper attention, bad habits, in turn, can stay with students for the rest of their lives, causing problems of larger scales to society in the future. Moreover, parents nowadays work for longer hours, which is leading to a shortage in so-called ‘family time’. As regular working hours and time when students go to tutors differ, nowadays family members do not see each other very often. Instead, they are sending messages to each others, which restricts emotional connection and acts as an obstacle for real-plife communication. Consequently, these students are being supervised neither by school administratives, nor at home by parents, which is leading to even worse behaviour in public and at school.

In my opinion, one of the best ways of tackling the problem is by dividing responsibilities between parents and teachers. At school, the best way is to make students follow strict rules that are meant to grow discipline in students. Banning phones in school territory can serve a good example for this decision. As a result, students will not be able to distract others in the lesson, play games instead of studying, and send each other unnecessary messages. Regarding parents, they must work with their children at home. If basic manners taught rightly, there’s a greater chance of adolescent helping the society, their peers, and place where they study. Take regular family meetings for example, where fathers and mothers sit in front of their children, tell stories from their lives, and basically try to connect with kids. As a result, not only do children learn life lessons from their parents, but they will also have deeper emotional connections with them, which, in the long run, will improve their relationship.

In conclusion, when it comes to dangerous actions taking place in schools, lack of parental support and discipline at schools are the primary roots of the problem, and mutual agreement in taking responsibility between parents and school members will be the most beneficial steps towards dealing with the problem/X’s unity and overall positive relationships/
