Nowadays, many teachers tend to give daily homework to students. While I do think it is beneficial to many students, as it can help them to remember the things that they have learnt at school, I also think it is equally important for students to have a little free time to do other activities.
To begin with, I think giving homework daily can really help students to reinforce the things that were taught at school and can help them remember them for a long time. A recent study conducted showed that students who did their homework daily were more likely to remember the content after several weeks compared to students who were not consistent in doing their homework.
Moreover, doing their homework daily can teach them to be more disciplined and help them get used to this routine, which can help them excel in their higher studies.
However, giving too many tasks can make them develop a dislike towards studying, which could result in them not wanting to go to school. Moreover, assigning loads of homework can take away time from their day that they might want to spend playing video games, going outside to play with friends, or doing any other leisure activities. Schools could instead assign a smaller workload to students so they can spend time doing the things they like.
In conclusion, I believe that giving homework every day can aid in fostering discipline and help them remember the content better, and teachers should instead assign a small amount of homework so students can spend time doing activities they prefer
