The diagram illustrates the process of how chocolate is made from a cocoa tree.
Overall, cocoa beans undergo a series of processes, including fermentation, drying, roasting and crushing, before being transformed into liguid chocolate.
The first step involves, planting the cacao tree which are generally grown in South America, Africa, Indonesia. Once they turn ripe red the pods are harvested and then, they are cut down in order to extract white cocoa beans. Following that, the beans are then fermented between leaves and, spread to get dried under the sun. Once, the beans are completely dry, they are place in large sacks.
At the subsequent stage, the sacks are then transported by train or car and taken to the factory for further process.Beans are then roasted at a very high temperature. After that, roasted beans transferred to a big round vessesel that then spins at a high speed which removes the outer shells and also crushes the beans. Finally, the crushed beans are pressed in order to get the end product that is liquid chocolate.
