The chart illustrates steps to get a driving license in the US.
Overall, to be able to drive legally in the US, people need to pass three tests including an eyesight test, a written test and a road test. A fee is required in case people want to retake the written and the road test.
People need to go to the driving license center and fill in the form to take an eyesight test. No license can be given to those who fail this test. However, those who pass can sit a written test after paying a fee.
The result of the written exam determines the next steps. Those failing the exam may then retake it, if they pass, they are then able to take the road exam. A fee is required in case a person want to retake the written test for the forth time. Others, in contrast, pass the exam in the first attempt can take the road test immediately.
Anyone who pass the road exam will get a driving license. Those who fail must pay fee and retake both the written and road exams.
