A significant number of trainers in the past focused on lectures as a traditional method for increasing knowledge; however, technology is now thriving in the academic field. Some people argue that lectures hold no value anymore. From my perspective, I advocate for the embrace of cutting-edge technology in education.
It is essential to recognize that, while lectures are one of the oldest methods of study, they do have some detrimental aspects. First, research shows that there are over three hundred varied methods of studying, each varying in effectiveness. For instance, some individuals struggle academically due to ineffective studying practices, such as attempting to focus during dull two- to three-hour lectures, or others who cannot comprehend spoken content due to disabilities. Additionally, many lecturers find questions distracting, leading to a rigid prohibition on student inquiries, which is fundamentally key to understanding.
On the other hand, numerous successes are emerging globally, thanks to advancements in technology. Even though some teachers or tutors possess wide-ranging and useful knowledge, they may not have discovered ways to teach directly and comprehensively. To improve these educational roles, Artificial Intelligence (AI) could serve as a viable replacement, potentially reducing unemployment rates in the process. Furthermore, the variety of study methods is rapidly increasing. For example, individuals passionate about creative and collaborative skills are now engaging in artistic projects.
In conclusion, there are both benefits and drawbacks to technology in education. Given that we all have different learning styles based on our individual curiosities and physical barriers, it is crucial to harness AI to reduce the number of unmotivated learners.
