In contemporary society, it has become common for many countries to open their doors to a greater number of visitors as travel now is as not costly as it was in the past. From my viewpoint, the benefits of this trend can overshadow its drawbacks. In this essay, I will delve into both sides and give my views as follows.
The advantages of welcoming more tourists are countless, one of which is boosting national income. Due to the fact that if visitors are given various affordable and convenient services, they will be pleasant and satisfied with the country; therefore, they will revisit the country in the very near future. Moreover, removing the boundaries among nations could lead to introducing not only each nation’s cultural identities but also its cuisine. For example, by welcoming globetrotters, the Vietnamese government can advertise its traditional dishes such as Banh Chung, Pho, etc… As a result, its national budget has been enhanced a lot.
However, the given phenomenon also has some downsides such as increasing infectious diseases. To cite this with an example, during the COVID-19 pandemic, many states around the world had to suffer from the pandemic since many people were infected Covid 19 but still had a tendency to travel. This was not only adversely affected the national asserts but also harmed each individual’s health.
To conclude, despite several disadvantages, the advantages of the trend of opening the doors to increase lots of visitors are more beneficial. Therefore, I believe that its drawbacks cannot outweigh its benefits.
