Overall, the number of apartment that were claimed to construction in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth showed upward trends, albeit at varying rates. Additionally, Sydney and Melbourne stood out with consistently higher percentages compared to other areas.
Sydney and Melbourne exhibited somewhat similar patterns. Around 15,000 of new flats approved for construction in Sydney between 2012 and 2014, while Melbourne experienced the same results. The figure for the year 2015 increased to 30,000 and roughly 24,000 respectively. In the following year, the number of claimed new apartments in Sydney marginally increased to about 33,000, while in Melbourne, this figure flowed, reaching 22,000.
Similarly, the number of new apartments that were approved for construction in both Brisbane and Perth improved from 2012 to 2016, but with marginal numbers. Starting at approximately 7,000 in 2012, the figure for claimed new flats in Brisbane doubled in 2015, reaching more than 15,000. Moreover , the number of new apartment that were claimed to built in Perth almost remain stable, starting with 3,000 in 2012, ended with 5,000 in 2016.
