Overall, the National Government was the greatest contributor to the budget in both years while most of the budget was spent on salaries.
With regard to the police budget sources, from a total of £ 304.7 million in 2017, £175.5 million was supplied by the National Government, local taxes generated £91.2 million and £38 million was gotten from other sources. In 2018, while the National Government and local taxes sources barley changed in amount compared to 2017, other sources generated almost £10 million more.
Looking at spending in, in 2017 75% of the budget was used to pay salaries while 8% was spent on technology. By 2018, the expenditure of salaries had decreased to 69% while that of technology had grown to 14%. In both years, 17% of the budget was spent on buildings and transport.
