Junk food has detrimental effects on children’s health and some people think that schools should facilitate children to avoid it. However, I agree with the opinion that parents are most responsible people for this issue.
Schools play an important role in children’s life. Since children spend most of their time in schools, schools should teach not only school subjects but also should encourage healthy lifestyle rules. Compared to home, educational places have a more strict atmosphere and following rules in such an environment are more possible and realizable for children. Moreover, schools can practice it on their own by just offering only healthy foods in buffets. Thereby, under the impact of peers and limited choices in school buffets children might become accustomed to it easier and faster.
However, I align with those who think that parents are most responsible for encouraging their children to avoid fast food. Despite school upbringings, the family environment impacts on children more significantly. Children grow and shape their visions based on inner family rules. Parents as someone who might impact their children undoubtedly have greater chances to foster avoiding healthy food compared to people from outside. Undoubtedly, even children learned about junk foods at school, if there are parents who eat this kind of food at home, children will definitely choose that way their parents follow.
In conclusion, there is a belief that since schools have a more strict environment, it plays a main role in encouraging children to avoid junk food. Nevertheless, I support the view that the family environment has greater impact on child, consequently, parents are most responsible people for their children in encouraging healthy food eating.
