Overall, there were decreases in the data of closed and newly opened shops during 7 years. Despite having a higher number of new store openings than that closed stores at the beginning, it was lower at the end of the period.
First, the figure for shops that closed started at about 8500, and it had a significant decrease around 4000 in 2012, after which the proportion increased considerably and reached a peak at over 6000 in 2014. There was a slight decline, followed by it remained stable at 4000 from 2015 to 2017. Afterwards, it fell moderately at approximately 3000 in 2018.
Moreover, new shops opening was 6400 in 2011 and had a marked fluctuation up to 2014. Especially, there was a dramatic drop about 600 in 2015, at which point opening shops was nearly 4 times as many as higher than shop closures. Following it witnessed a significant rise over 5000, before it fluctuated hit 5000 during a period from 2016 and 2018.
