The following graphs present the comparison of the total percentage of films released as well as the total percentage of the tickets sold in cinemas in a country, between the years 1996 and 2006, respectively.
As shown in the first graph, Drama comprised the highest percentage of film released, which was above 25% in 1996 and even higher in 2006, which is at exactly 35%. Comedy, comes in next in ranking. Of the total, 20% have been produced in 1996 and 25% in 2006. It is followed by Fantasy at below 15% in 1996 and a little up from the 15% mark in 2006. Lastly, Romance ranked the lowest, wherein only less than 10% have been created in both 1996 and 2006.
In the second graph, Comedy saw the rise in terms of ticket sales, reaching as high as 20% in 1996, and up to the middle below 25%. The second most number of sold tickets was for Drama, with little bit between 15-20% both in 1996 and 2006. Romance registered lower in percentage, at 5 % in 1996 and below 5% in 2006. Fantasy was recorded lowest overall in 1996 with lower than 5% in 1996 but rose to above 5% in 2006.
In conclusion, Drama was the film with the highest percentage of films produced both in 1996 and 2006, followed by Comedy, Fantasy and Romance. However, Comedy ranked first in the total percentage of tickets sales in 1996 and 2006, then Drama, Fantasy and Romance trailed behind.
