It is stated that TV has adverse impacts on children. From my perspective, I completely agree with this statement for certain reasons.
To begin with, excessive screen time can lead to health issues. There are numerous attractive programme on TV such as cartoons, superhero series and music shows, resulting in many children prefering to watch TV over engaging in physical activities. This presents a possibility for those who lack exercises to gain weight and become obese, leading to various health complications, related to diabetes as well as cardiovascular diseases.
Furthermore, using the considerable amount of time on TV also has detrimental influences on the academic results to children. Time spent to watch TV is often take away from reading, doing homework and other educational activities. As a consequence, children may not enough spend time for studying preparing the lessons properly. There is a high chance that those who are not prioritising education will fall behind other kids as they are unable to keep up with there peers. According to the recent survey, over 80% children living in families that not use TV have better academic performance than those in families that allow children to watch TV freely. This highlights significant effects of TV on learning outcomes.
In conclusion, I firmly believe that TV undeniably has detrimental effect on children’s health and academic results. Therefore, it is essential for parents to regulate the children’s TV consumption to diminish these risks.
