The following figure provides a comparison of consuming various types of meat namely, Fish, Lamb, Beef and Chicken in a certain country in Europe during 25 years, from 1979 to 2004.
Upon scanning through the graph, it’s apparent that weekly Chicken consumption of every individual has experienced a steady growth ( approximately 100 grams increase) and it is at the highest level compared to other meats. Lamb and Beef consumption rates have declined during this period. In spite of other meats, consuming fish at the lowest level is approximately constant during these years.
It’s interesting to note the situation of Chicken and Beef consumption. To be more exact, after a mere decline, consumption of Beef climbed rapidly until 1984, then it started a staggering fall until 2004 ( about 100 gram decrease).
However, concerning Chicken meat consumption, with a bit of fluctuation, has been steadily increasing.
