It is widely suggested that art classes should be added to the lists of compulsory subjects for high schools because of their importance in children’s growth. Although, it is true that art lessons offer undeniable benefits to youngsters’ development, I am confident that those subjects should not be compulsory.
On the one hand, both drawing and painting enhance children’s creativity and imagination as well as pose the chance to provide self expression which is effective for young individuals to understand the needs of their own. Drawing only a little composition like nature or a bunch of flowers can drive children to challenge their imagination in a positive way by using different colors and lines.It is also proven that arts has great impact on the psychological features of child’s development , many people utilize it as therapy which can help reveal the emotions and alleviate the stress by painting pictures. When coloring with pencils, brushes or markers , new neurons evolve that can lead to express and comprehend one’s feelings . These types of arts can be linked to many advantages for mental well-being of young people.
On the other hand, in case it is obligation to attend art classes for high school students , this policy might bring with disengagement and regular absence among those who are not interested in this sphere. The way students behave changes negatively because of forcing students to study particular subjects.In addition, some of the learners have different pursuit or target for the future. Most talented youth at technology and science will to spend enough time on solving mathematical equations and problems rather than taking up painting work. Meanwhile, for the audience which does not possess any enthusiasm , arts might seem tedious and time consuming.
In conclusion, I would argue that considering the certain roles of arts in educational sectors, it is not reasonable to teach drawing and painting compulsorily.
